Supporting education in our local community

February 28th 2017

Prior’s Mill Church of England Primary School in Billingham received a £2000 donation from Tomlinson Hall last week, which will help to fund its forthcoming Science and Engineering week.

In January, Tomlinson Hall was named SME of the Year - Supply Chain at the North East of England Process Industry Cluster Awards and we nominated Prior’s Mill school as the recipient of the £2000 award prize money.

The NEPIC SME of the Year Award - Supply Chain was sponsored by Chemoxy International Ltd and we were recognised for our development of new industry partnerships, introduction of new services, sales success for global pump brands and our contribution to and engagement with the NEPIC cluster.

Colin Simpson, business development director at Tomlinson Hall, said: “Tomlinson Hall is a community-focused company with deep roots in Teesside and we have forged strong links with Prior’s Mill over the last few years.

“We’re delighted that the donation will be used to help nurture the next generation of scientists and engineers in our region.”

Kirsty Huddart, deputy head teacher at Prior’s Mill Church of England Primary School, added: “We extend our sincere thanks to all those involved for this fantastic and most valuable award.”

In 2015, we also donated £2000 to the school, after being named SME of the Year in the NEPIC Annual Awards for the first time. The money was used to support a visit by Year 6 pupils to the Life Science Centre in Newcastle, where they participated in workshops and were taught basic programming skills.
